Native grass specialist, Dr Ian Chivers will provide participants with information to help them make informed decisions about sowing and managing native grasses.
Dr. Ian Chivers founded his company Native Seeds in 1988 and is a leader in the native seed industry with over 28 years’ experience. He is also a co-author of the recently released fourth edition of the Australian native grasses manual.
Workshop discussions will include:
the role of native grasses in our landscape
how and where to sow native grasses
how to establish native grasses and manage them
how to utilise existing native pastures for seed and production.
Lunch will be provided on the day and there will be a paddock walk in the afternoon with discussions on the practical application of native grass sowing and seed production.
The workshop will be held in Cooma on Friday, 9 September and Braidwood on Saturday, 10 September. Registration is essential. The first 20 people to register to attend each workshop will receive a free copy of the newly released Australian native grasses publication.
