The game was played under lights on Goulburn's only usable hockey field at the Goulburn Workers Sports Complex on Friday night, August 26.
The game between Taralga and Ajax Hockey Clubs was expected to be an exciting opening to the weekend and it didn't fail to meet expectations.
First half was scoring fest with both teams lighting up the board and by half time the score was three goals a piece.
That is where the score stayed despite several opportunities for both sides the defensive effort was so strong. At full time the score was deadlocked still.
The game then went into extra time and it was finally Taralga", who one minute looked like the were in trouble and the next were down the other end attacking Ajax goal, who broke the deadlock and won the grand final four goals to three.
