But 2016 will also bring with it a new experience for the two-time Bathurst 1000 winner. This year, instead of being behind the wheel of a Falcon or Commodore, he will steer a Nissan Altima as co-driver for Rick Kelly.
Ingall got his first taste of racing the #15 Altima when placing 10th at the Sandown 500 with Kelly – a race in which he spun in wet conditions. Still, that incident will serve as motivation to do a better job at Bathurst.
"I pride myself on not making mistakes and I don’t like it when I make one. I just rode up on the wet curb a little too much and it turned me around,” he said. “It’s just a shame, because our pace was really good in that race.
“The boys keep telling me I’m going to enjoy going over the top of the mountain at Bathurst because the Nissan handles so well. So we’ll definitely do a better job at Bathurst."
