The trail, now in its 10^th year, allows visitors to take self-guided tours of Queanbeyan-Palerang’s many galleries, provides local artists with the opportunity to showcase their work, and gives visitors a chance to witness the creative process involved in producing a work of art. 

A variety of galleries in Braidwood will be hosting special shows to display the work of local artists.

The Braidwood Regional Arts Group (BRAG) will be hosting an opening night on Friday, October 28. The exhibition will continue 10am-5pm all weekend.

The exhibition includes two contrasting displays: Mask, featuring masks made by BRAG members; and UnMask, featuring works by Glenda Fell Jones, Frank Lindner and Monde Monde, drawn together by an exploration of the inner self that exists behind a conventional facade. The opening night includes a living parade of many of the masks, promising to be a unique experience.

At the Left Hand this Saturday a new show, Paint on Paper, will bring together nine artists from Braidwood, Canberra and Melbourne.

The nine artists – Alycia Moffit, Kate Stevens, Mimi Fairall, Robin Wallace-Crabbe, Lizzie Hall, Linda Dening, John Pratt, Pauline Webber and Phil Day – have all approached the invitation to make paintings on paper in radically different ways. 

Paintings range from colourful abstracted images to delicate representations of birds. 

All-comers are invited to drinks on the opening Saturday afternoon from 5pm, or to come and enjoy the displays during the show’s three-weekend run (October 29-30, November 5-6 and 11-12, 10am-5pm).

Several other galleries will be hosting exhibitions and sales over the weekend. These include: the Mill (19 Mackellar Street), the Silken Tent (7 Clyde Street), and Altenburg & Co Gallery (104 Wallace Street).
