Braidwood’s party will take place in Ryrie Park on December 10, with Wilson Street closed to traffic to create a food alley.
Braidwood’s event will have great community input and the APEX Club will have their annual fundraiser as part of the event, as well as providing a special guest in red. Music students from the local schools will be performing and the Braidwood Dance Academy is organising dance performances. These celebrations all have excellent local community input and I encourage you all to enjoy the festivities.
Braidwood FM
The community radio station approached Council about broadcasting Council meetings so that those with unreliable internet connections can still hear what is going on in Council if they would like to.
I think this is a brilliant initiative and Council is appreciative of Braidwood FM’s efforts to ensure the community stay informed.
Injured Wildlife
If you come across injured wildlife anywhere within the Queanbeyan-Palerang area, Wildcare and the Native Animal Rescue Group (NARG) both operate a helpline 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Together Wildcare and NARG cover the Queanbeyan-Palerang area.
Wildcare can be contacted on 6299 1966. NARG operate in and around the Braidwood area and can be contacted on 4846 1900. Wildcare and NARG are both volunteer organisations who are eager to help animals in distress, and their members work together within our local government area.
Companion Animals
A reminder to residents that all cats and dogs, other than exempt cats and dogs, must be microchipped by 12 weeks of age or before being sold or given away, whichever happens first. Cats and dogs are also required to be registered by six months of age. Council’s website contains valuable information on how to keep a companion animal happy, healthy and safe for owners and the community.
