Another region that might fit is the southern coast of Turkey. The coast is delightful – bleached cliffs with fishing villages tucked away in tiny coves, the scent of pine and wild thyme mingled with the sea air, glorious beaches and enough archaeology to make your feet ache. There are many vessels that make one-week trips along this coast from ports such as Bodrum. The majority are gulets, broad-beamed sailing vessels that can measure up to about 25 metres, similar to the vessels you would have seen on your Croatian cruise. Standards vary but at the upper end of the scale you can expect sunbeds, snorkelling and fishing gear, hot showers, airconditioning, water toys and a stereo system.

However, this experience might be too similar to what you've experienced. Another region that offers a more varied diet is the Greek Islands. A one-week sailing trip through the Cyclades, for example, could be just what you're looking for.
