The City and Roar shared the points after being locked at 1-all at the conclusion of play at AAMI Park.
The match marked round nine of the A-League season.
Brisbane jumped ahead to a 1-0 advantage in the 38th minute thanks to a goal from Jamie Maclaren.
But the City drew level in the 55th minute when Nicolas Colzao found the back of the net.
The scoreline remained at 1-all for the remainder of the contest.
