Fires
After hearing of the fires in Currandooley/Tarago and Wamboin and seeing the hard work that our emergency services do, I am extremely grateful for all their efforts. They work tirelessly to protect lives, livestock and property. In an emergency, please always follow any directions from emergency service personnel. For the most up to date information, follow the updates on the NSW Rural Fire Service webpage or download the “Fires Near Me” app for your mobile device. If you don’t already have one, develop a Bushfire Survival Plan to ensure you know what you are going to do in an emergency.

Council meeting
The first Council meeting for 2017 is in Bungendore on Wednesday 25 January. There are lots of items up for discussion including the applicants for the Special Heritage Fund for 2016-17 and the allocation of some of this year’s Roads to Recovery funds to a section of Captains Flat road between Kearns Parade and Douglas Close. Council will be seeking further funding to allow for the next phase of construction for Nerriga Road.
Council’s Planning and Strategy Committee will commence on 8 February. It is worth noting that the terms of reference of the Committee do not preclude it from considering Council matters, nor Council meetings from considering development matters. Just as for an Ordinary Meeting of Council, these meetings will be livestreamed and the agenda made publicly available.
