On Friday February 3 St Andrew’s Anglican Church in Braidwood will be filled with the sound of Vivaldi, Mozart and Paganini as the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne performs.
Founded in Cologne, the Philharmonia’s objective is to capture its audience in the enchantment offered by the classical repertoire they perform. “We want to inspire as many people as possible across all generations to enjoy classical music,” they say.
Soloists Sergey Didotrnko, Ana Palacios Castellano and Dmitri Gornovsky will be performing from a repertoire which spans the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries. The musicians will perform works including ‘Summer’ of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Borne’s ‘Carmen Fantasy’ and Paganini’s ‘The Carnival of Venice’.
The Philharmonia performs over 300 concerts per year throughout the world, with a repertoire that aims to meld popular and lesser known works from a variety of periods. during their Australian tour they will be performing in a range of locations including Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle.
