She’s enjoying the experience though. “It’s cool when you can see other people look at it without having to be involved in any way,” says Miss Davies of having her work on public display.
Miss Davies’ work contrasts public and private, taking intimate portraits and hanging on the street, tapping into the idea that the street is the ultimate gallery.
She arrived at the idea while studying renowned French street artist JR, who posts large black and white images in public locations.
Miss Davies will be participating in an Exhibition talk at the gallery on Wednesday evening, quizzing curator Leeanne Carr and acclaimed artist Del Kathryn Barton about the exhibition and their work.
Miss Davies’ plans to take a gap year this year and begin study at university in 2018.
