Odile Rammoni, the groups’s Managing Director said the group comes to Australia to perform so Australians can know what Botswanan culture is like.
“When we are in Australia, we feel like we are at home,” he said.
The kids had the opportunity to ask the dancers questions after the performance. They asked about the dancer’s outfits, how the dancers learnt to dance and what the dancers eat in Botswana.
Mr Rammoni was able to tell them about how Botswanans eat a lot of maize porridge and meat, including meat from ‘the big five’ Botswanan animals, the lion, the elephant, the hippo, the rhino and the Buffalo.
The dancers are in Australia for the Canberra Festival and the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival.
