The exhibition showcases 25 years of Beale’s work, but focuses on recent road trips taken as part of the hunt for images evoking change and decay in rural communities.
A selection of portraits and situation photos from Beale’s work in the sewers beneath Sydney will also be on display, as well as works from his time in East Timor and of monks at the Holy Cross Seminary near Goulburn.
Beale uses traditional darkroom techniques to develop his photographs without manipulation.
The show will be opening for three weekends (March 18 to April 2) from 10am to 5pm. Drinks will be held at the Left Hand from 5pm on March 18.
