Organised by council, the event was run by an independent facilitator, and sought to identify short and long term priorities for the development of the Main Street.
Issues raised by attendees included the prospect of a bypass, and the need to balance a safer streetscape with commerce in the town; storm water management; the need for social spaces, including youth spaces; and balancing the need to maintain heritage with aesthetics and functionality; accessibility and amenity.
Attendees were asked to vote to assist the council to determine short and long term priorities for the street.
