Saturday saw the actors pull together to erect the replica of the slab hut at Jinden, built by Terry Hart. The hut will be the centrepiece of the re-enactment, as Tom and John Clarke emerge to a hail of bullets from the special police.
The group walked through the day’s events, in which twenty locals will re-enact the capture of the infamous Clarke brothers, who had terrorised the region for two years. Many of the cast are descendants of the Clarkes and their relations, whose ties to Braidwood were strong.
The Capture of the Clarkes re-enactment will take place at the Showgrounds at 2:30pm on Saturday April 29.
