An 8-1 win against Woden valley lightning was great way to introduce our two new recruits Edward Horan and Blake Doherty and welcome back Logan Kendall.
Credit to Woden Valley who played with only 10 players. They moved the ball around well, and had some good shots on goal, thankfully thwarted by our defenders and keeper Kyle Mitchell. Great saves and great work guys.
Sinan Sorial started the goal scoring, by mopping up a spill from a corner with a thumper, from deep behind the penalty arc, smashing the crossbar on the way in. Harry Jeffery scored a bevy of goals as per usual, he has knack for being in the right place at the right time, slotting four altogether. Jeremy Ramm scored two overall with a nice bender around opponents to the far right hand side of the goal. Callaum also contributed with a great goal after a hard sprint.
Ed, Blake and Logan came back to the game in great form. Rhys, Anunta, Sinan and Adrian again stalwarts in defence. Lachlan, Louis, Maxx and Jeremy kept the cold at bay constantly running the ball through the halves.

What a start to the season today at Phillip Oval in Canberra against Marist resulting in a draw. We all knew this game was going to be tense and it was action packed from start to finish.
Our team held up well after their holidays break. Our backs and mids were dizzy today going backwards and forwards constantly holding back the Marist strong front line. Nathan Hindmarsh saved many goals.
Bonnie and Hughie kept the pressure on Marist’s front line pushing the ball forward to Hunter and Brodie, then passing on to our front.
The front made several attempts at goal, but the Marist defence was just as good as ours constantly keeping us back also. A penalty kick from Nelson nearly penetrated, but was saved. An outstanding corner from Isabella just missed the forehead connection from Leroy into the net.
Laynee, Matilda and Josh kept our line together down the back and when in trouble marking up correctly or just simply avoiding break throughs by kicking it over the side line. Reggie, Hunter, Brodie and Hughie saved many goals by constantly falling back and creating pressure.
The final score was nil all.
