Built last year, it's situated 65 metres above the water, offering expansive views across the English channel.

Granted, at 13 metres above sea level it's not the tallest cliff on the list, but this striking home from Patkau Architects makes the most of its view over the Pacific Ocean.
Completed in 2012, the property is located on Quadra Island in British Columbia, Canada, and has received several awards, including a 2016 RIBA Award for International Excellence.
