She said she never imagined she would stand for election again after spending three terms on council more than a decade ago.

“I never thought I’d do this again, but I am just so disappointed.”

Ms Jarvis said she’s unhappy with the processes undertaken by the former council in particular.

“I don’t believe the community was consulted about a lot of things that were done,” she said.

“I don’t believe they have supported local business.”

Ms Jarvis is also concerned about how money is being spent, and what it is being spent on.

If elected, she would like to see the advancement of the showground, which she described as having dilapidated facilities which haven’t been improved for many years.

She said the showground could be one facility that if upgraded, would attract a significant amount of people to the area for various events.

Ms Jarvis is a founding member of the Jerrabomberra Rotary Club, and has been involved with the postnatal depression pram group for the past 20 years.

“Over 50 years, I’ve been on so many committees in town and I still volunteer for Meals on Wheels,” Ms Jarvis said.

“I want this town to flourish, but it’s dead.”
