It’s a completely new start in life for owners Annette Ogilvie and Anthony Kelly, who plan to share the Yuletide joy year round by opening a Christmas Shop.
Christmas is Ms Ogilvie’s passion, and when her life took an unexpected twist, she decided to lean into it.
She and Mr Kelly have channeled her passion for Christmas, and their love of old buildings, meticulously restoring the interior to create what they hope will be a nostalgic Bavarian wonderland.
“We're trying to just bring back memories of how we were when we were kids,” Ms Ogilvie said.
“It's not just about Christmas things, it's about bringing back memories.”
From Longreach and Melbourne respectively, Ms Ogilvie and Mr Kelly moved to Braidwood in August. They weren’t planning on going into the Christmas business, but they saw the shop and seized the chance.
“This is our new start in life, and we're just trying to make something magical,” Ms Ogilvie said.
Ms Ogilvie and Mr Kelly anticipate that the shop will open in the final week of October.
More to come.
