But the weather didn’t seem to faze either team, with the Braidwood spirit and determination lingering inside every player.
The Spiderlings won their first game for the season, with two tries to nil against the Wests.
Maddi Nelson and Molly Chidgey both scored outstanding tries.
The ball went through the hands of the Spiderlings, taking the ball across the field making space for the try scorers to place the ball over the try line.
The young women had a very successful day with tries from the Spiderlings in every game.
Sarah Walker pushed through the defence and also scored for the day, as well as kicking the conversion. Maddi Nelson also scored another two tries for her team over the day.
The girls were on fire and this is just the very start of an outstanding team to come.
They are improving immensely and it’s fantastic to see how much talent the young ladies of Braidwood have to offer. A huge congratulations goes out to you all!
The Black Widows played well but didn’t seem to quite be on their game as they were last week.
The Widows still played with skill, determination and perseverance, however, to put the football over the try line. The girls took on Tumut, ADFA, ViQueens and the Marlins.
Fantastic tries were scored over the day from Tamika Morgan, Melissa Knight and Hayley Quill. Well done to all the Black Widows!
Both teams will next be playing in Tumut on October 14. Good luck to the Black Widows and Spiderlings!
Also, a big thank you goes out to the Bendigo Bank for the team drink bottles, we would be lost without them.
