After playing at the Club earlier in the year, she thought ‘Why not?’ while putting together her Loaded tour.
“Last time I had a ball, I loved it, and there’s not many venues you play more than once in a year,” Lamb said.
“I’m really looking forward to being back.”’
The performance will feature songs from her new album Loaded, released earlier this year. A scattering of songs from her first album, and covers of some old favourites means Lamb is confident the night will have something for everyone to enjoy.
“We’ve tried to cover that for everybody, so hopefully it’s a very family friendly kind of a night,” she said.
The tour is a few months delayed from the album launch, but it’s the first time this year Lamb has had a minute.
After finishing up the past three years touring with Lee Kernaghan, it was off to Nashville for some songwriting. She wound up writing another 35 songs, which she plans to turn into her next album next year.
With a these commitments winding up, she decided 2017 was the perfect time to stretch some musical muscles and branch out on her own.
“This is kind of the first chance I’ve really go and do a full tour on my own,” Lamb said.
“I kind of went, it’d be nerve wracking but exciting to go out on my own and see what it’s like.”
“It’s been really good,” Lamb said, “I’ve been nervous every weekend, going I hope people turn up.”
It may be nerve wracking, but Lamb brings the energy of a true performer to gigs.
“I love it,” she said “I love writing songs, but the performing side of it, meeting new people and having people relate to your songs, that’s my favourite part of the job.”
