AGMs are an important event on the calendar of every community organisation. This is when people who are passionate about the vision and goals of the organisation put their hand up to be involved and help manage its activities over the coming year.
Committees thrive with the input of members who have diverse skills and experience, and who bring passion and drive to their role. This is certainly true of Landcare … so we’d encourage anyone in the community who is passionate about caring for the environment and building resilient, healthy communities to consider putting their hand up.
It’s been nearly three decades since Prime Minister Bob Hawke declared the 1990s would be “the decade of Landcare” and this grassroots movement has been driven by the community (with support from government and the corporate sector) ever since.
USLC’s mission is to engage communities in building and maintaining landscapes with sustainable productivity and resilient biodiversity. Our vision is for resilient and prosperous communities in diverse and sustainable landscapes. All members of the community are welcome to become involved in Landcare. And if our mission and vision speak to you, you could also be a future committee member!
Upper Shoalhaven Landcare Council’s AGM is at Braidwood Servicemen’s Club from 6.30pm on Thursday, November 23.
