This production is the third the school has produced this year, following Year 11 Drama's 'A Doll's House' and the primary school's production of 'Pinocchio'. The production has been developed based upon the students own interests and contains music such as, DuranDuran's 'Hungry Like the Wolf' and The Beatles 'And I love her'.
Braidwood Central School repeatedly produces quality theatre. The reason for this is we celebrate kids being kids.
The students involved in our productions enjoy being on stage and are celebrated for every moment they create. It takes a lot of confidence to get up on stage and play someone outside of yourself, and the performing arts team at BCS is committed to encouraging and building this confidence in students.
The students’ input that breathes life into classic fairy tale texts and makes the production lively and exciting.
The students’ performances have also developed wonderfully, as they have extended on their term 3 study of Melodrama.
They're finding their own expression of these exaggerated comedic characters. It is a pleasure to teach students who feel confidence on stage, and we're incredibly grateful to the Braidwood community for continuing to foster this talent and support students in taking the risk to perform on stage.
These productions would not be possible without the parents and families of students, support of the BCS P&C and this year we give special thanks to Free Rain Theatre company for supporting our school with the loan of their stunning costumes.
- Please come join us on November 10 and 11 to enjoy the work of our talented youth. This event is free and everybody is welcome to attend.
