Around 1.35pm a white Nissan Hatchback driving from Araluen towards Moruya appeared to have lost control, skidded and rolled into the drainage gully, 1500 metres east of Neringla Rd.
The car contained two men from the Batemans Bay and Moruya areas. The passenger was able to free himself, while emergency services were forced to cut the driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported by helicopter to Canberra Hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening. Police believe at this stage that alcohol might have been a factor.
A responding ambulance was involved in a head on collision with a Holden ute on a blind bend between Moruya and Araluen. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, but no injuries were sustained.
