In a service run by the RSL sub-branch, those attending sung the hymn ‘Abide with me’, Reverend David Jones, minister of Braidwood Uniting spoke, followed by the Last Post and a minutes’ silence.
An RSL representative, Councillor Peter Marshall, a representative of the 1st Braidwood Scouts, and members of the community then laid wreaths.
Chris Nelson, Secretary of the RSL sub-branch counted 63 people attending the service.
With several sub-branch members out of action, Mr Nelson said he was grateful for the help of the council and the 1st Braidwood Scouts, who stepped up to prepare the gardens and do some of the heavier preparation work in the lead up to the day.
