Ten years ago the owner of Wallace Street Early Learning Centre first saw the need for a childcare centre in Braidwood which provided longer hours for under three year olds.
To celebrate its birthday, on Saturday the centre threw a party.
“We just feel it’s a milestone, ten years. We’d like to involve the families and celebrate with them, because we’ve had so many families come through and seen the children grown up,” Rachel Flint, coordinator at the Centre, said last week.
“We just want to say thank you to the community as well for all the support we’ve had over the 10 years.”
Despite a threatening sky, kids and families had fun at the mini-carnival, with a merry-go round, photo booth, bubble station, colouring competition, guessing competitions and face painting.
“The day went really well despite the rain, we had a lot of families turn up and they seemed to have a really great time,” Ms Flint said.
“We also has some amazing food donated by Brooke at the Deer Head Food Van which was lovely.”
