Joey Scouts is the first Section of Scouts. It focuses on fun and friendship, and is a gentle introduction to a world of challenges and adventures through Scouting.

Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories and craft activities. From building monsters and spaceships from scrap items, to growing plants from seedlings and singing songs together, all Joeys develop a strong sense of belonging and an understanding of the world around them.

Joey Scouts will meet once a week in the Scout Hall. The Joey Scout Leaders, who undertake special training, may be a parent of one of the Joeys and will have an assistant leader to help them. Each Joey Scout Leader guides a Joey Mob of up to 20 children as they learn to share and care for each other in a social environment. The safety of all Joey Scouts is very important, which is why there are always leaders on hand during all activities.

We already have a couple of volunteers who are interested in being Joey leaders, but their training needs to get started first. We also need to make sure that we have enough Joey aged children to make it worthwhile. There is a possibility that Joeys will be on Thursdays from 5-6pm, before Cubs and Scouts, but this is subject to leader availability.

We would hope that Joeys could start sometime in Term One 2018, depending on numbers and leaders. 

We are having a meet and greet BBQ for our first night back on Thursday 1^st Feb from 6pm, so why not some down, talk to the leaders, bring the kids along for a snag and a play and meet some parents who are already involved.
