Members of the Two Fires Festival Committee for 2013 are really starting to rev up the engine for the fifth biennial offering which will take place over the weekend April 12 to 14. The first exciting offer to artists to participate in the festival is to ask for expressions of interest to create an Activist Poster. The festival organisers intend to curate an exhibition of activist posters which will be displayed in the National Theatre in Braidwood throughout the duration of the festival.
Expressions of Interest in this program are sought from artists by December 21. Your expression of interest should explore considerations of theme and medium.
To further assist you the curators have provided the following background information. All artwork shall be required to be A2 size and will be framed at the festival’s expense. Artists will be required to consent to the limited reproduction of their work and its distribution into the public domain. Production of an Activist Poster Calendar is anticipated and archival copies will be donated to institutions. It is hoped that the exhibition will travel.
Notification to successful applicants will be in the first week of January. The notification will be accompanied by the particular parameters of the project. The delivery of artworks will be required by February 21, 2013.
Please post or hand deliver hard copy Expressions of Interest, no larger than A4 and with attached thumbnails, to 2FF Activist Posters, C/O Braidwood Arts, 132 Hawthorne Lane, Braidwood, NSW 2622 or email Cath Moore at artandactivism@optusnet.com.au.
