"The Festival of the Winds, like the Sydney to Hobart yacht race and New Year's Eve fireworks, is one of those annual events that requires constant reinterpretation to avoid cliche. Having documented the Festival of the Winds close to a dozen times for the Herald over the years, I suspect my perspective as to whether or not I have avoided the cliche this time around has become a little foggy. I guess I'll have to leave it to the viewer."
