On Saturday the July 30, eleven of the P Plate Drivers of Braidwood, including myself, were given the opportunity to participate in a Defensive Driving Course outside of Queanbeyan on the Sutton Road.
All of us had a very enjoyable and informative day. We learnt skills such as how to inspect your vehicle to make sure it is safe, how to make changes to your vehicle to suit your personal needs, the correct way to steer the vehicle, reversing and how to control your car in a skid. This course would normally cost over $250 each but due to the generosity of Apex, Braidwood Community Bank, Masonic Lodge of Truth, The Lions Club and the Braidwood Motor Club we were all able to attend the course at no cost.
We would like to thank all of these organisations that helped make this day possible. We would encourage any P Plate drivers attend the course next year if it becomes available.
A special thanks goes to Chris Bowie for cooking us all lunch!
