Saturday saw a lovely day for the local soccer not as many attending left coaches wondering was there sickness about or parents might be thinking it was raining?
The youth games only had enough players for two teams so there was only one game played for this age group.
This was very disappointing to see as the few volunteers that we have given up there Saturdays to help with the coaching and organising of these games, this is the second week in a row this has happened so it is asked that parents could you please make the effort for your child to attend their game Thank you!
The little ones hit the fields with their usual enthusiasm which is lovely to watch, we saw Young Justice take on Avengers with a close game seeing Young Justice winning 2/1 it was a very solid game against two evenly matched teams. After a first half of awesome attack by the Avengers the score could have been a lot different except for the brilliant goal keeping of Nic Allen for Young Justice who kept it at 1 all. The second half was fierce play by both sides eagerly looking for the net, the clincher came from Hughie Lyons in the dying minutes to wrap up a great game.
Freedom Fighters took on Thunderbolts it was an awesome game between the Thunderbolts and the Freedom Fighters great scoring by Brodie Parsons scoring both goals for his team, terrific passing by Tom, Henry, Leroy and Nathan a special mention to Reggie , Imogen and Francine for their improved play, Thunderbolts winning 2/0 against Freedom Fighters.
The Dolphins took on the Turtles 5/0 both teams played extremely well and put in a lot of effort and hard work great game …. Well done guys!
The Palerang under 12’s played at home winning 5/3 with what was said to be a very tough game, still waiting on Coach Jason’s match report hopefully it’s on its way!
The Palerang Pinks played Belwest with only nine players again going down in a very dirty game nearly costing us a couple of valuable players our ladies were happy to see the end of a very violent game, all we say on this is “You certainly can’t keep a good woman down” and Lyla Crosbie proved this with very targeted attacks on her …. Well done Lil you showed guts, determination and most of all still showed good sportsmanship even after being so targeted by the opposition. This game was so rough we had quite a number of Asthma attacks on our side, well done girls you still pulled through the true ladies that you are .
Under 15 boys won their match 4/1 against Marist I am still waiting on their match report as well. Either way I would imagine that it was another outstanding game that only can be told in their secretive man caves!
See you Saturday Guys !
