The final of the 2016 Braidwood Bowling Club’s Triple Championships has been played between John Bunn, Nigel McGrath and Damien Campbell-Davys, who were opposed by Gary Collard, Kevin (Jungle) Lang and Leroy Campbell-Davys. The Bunn team won by a margin of 31 shots to 7, but this score does not really indicate the closeness of the game.
One of the highlights of the game was the consistency of Leroy who is only 11 years old and he can hold his head high competing with bowlers who have many years of experience.
The Bowling Club is holding a Charity Day on August 29, in aid of a member of the bowls fraternity who may have to go overseas for treatment for a serious health issue. There are many prizes to be won. It will be a great day for those people trying out the game for the first time.
