We’ve all seen the empty garden beds sitting forlorn on the blisters, we all have an opinion on the Albion Balconies, none of us love the trucks – but does anyone hear us grumble? Council has apparently. QPRC has begun a consultation with the community to form a plan for the beautification of the CBD.
Not content to wait, we went to the ‘CBD’ and asked ‘What do you think needs to be done to beautify Wallace Street?’ – here are some of the answers.
Council staff have been reviewing previous plans and documents, and have met with some organisations and individuals to discuss future improvements. Discussions will continue in the new year to further develop plans for the CBD.
Interim measures to enhance the presentation of Wallace Street during the Christmas traffic have been taken. These include recent plantings and works to pedestrian crossings.
Council representatives wished to assure the town that “the future look and feel and overall design of the beautification works has not been decided for [Braidwood], as this process will only begin after the community consultation.”
