Golf news

This week our Men's Senior Pennant Team qualified for the semi-finals with a 4-2 win over Belconnen; congratulations guys just a couple to go! The match was played on the new Westbourne course at Royal Canberra and good wins went to Rick Towers, Rodney Royds, Phil O'Toole and Keith Morgan. Next week's semi is against Capital, a replay of our last semifinal appearance in 2015.

Women’ Brindabella Shield Pennants will be played at Braidwood on Sunday April 2. In preparation there will be a working bee 10.30am Thursday March 30 to have the course clear and neat for both the ‘Nine and Dine’, and Pennants.

It's only two weeks to our ‘Nine and Dine’, scheduled to coincide with the end of daylight saving, Friday March 31 4.30pm. Cost is $25 for 9 holes and BBQ or $15 BBQ only – chook run may be played. Help will be needed with the BBQ, salads, desserts and raffle. Please RSVP by March 28 to Judy Scott on 48422135.

Preferred lies of one card length will continue for the foreseeable future but with the continuing wet weather we ask for patience with the course’s condition, especially in regards to the length of the rough and the state of the deep bunkers.
