Rates to increase in Queanbeyan-Palerang
The rates bill on a typical residential property in Braidwood valued at $178,250 in 2015, will rise from $3,337 in 2016-17 to $3,413 2017-18 following a slight increase in council rates.

Council’s income from rates will increase by 1.5% in the 2017-18 financial year, in line with the rate-peg amount of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal.
Amalgamated councils can only increase rate amounts by the rate peg limit for the first four years following the merger.
