Palerang dominated the first half with plenty of shots on goal. ANU were a determined side but could not break through Palerang’s strong defence.
It was nice to see the return of Emily Malone after international gridiron duties in Canada. She started the first half with a stint in goals before coming out into the forwards and scoring twice to put Palerang 2-0 up at half time.
The second half opened with more dominance from Palerang. ANU tried to get aggressive and physical to break through the defence. Although they did score a goal, Palerang ultimately won the battle.
By the end of the game Palerang was clearly in control and walked away with the points.
Emily Hanns the only Palerang scorer in the second half with a beautiful break through the defensive line before she drilled the ball into the left corner. The final score 3-1 to Palerang who remain top of the competition.
A bye next Sunday sees Palerang’s next game on Sunday July 23 in Yass against the Yass Redbacks. Good luck girls.
