The first half was windy and wild, which affected the play considerably. Controlling the ball was a challenge for both sides at the start. Palerang soon found their rhythm, taking Western Molonglo.
The wind often pushed the ball into Palerang’s half, and the defence protected the goal line throughout. Western Molonglo matched Palerang as the half continued but Palerang were too strong and Emily Hanns scored a beautiful goal, making the score one nil.
With the wind at their backs, Palerang started strong only for the wind to suddenly die down. Western Molonglo caught Palerang off-guard and scored their first goal to tie the match 1-1. Palerang retaliated with a goal from Kerri Mason but grew tired, with the opposition tying the game. Palerang sits first on the ladder, despite the draw. Their next match is on Sunday, August 13 in Braidwood at 2pm.
