The council last week launched the first ‘shop local’ initiative for the Palerang area.
Spend a minimum of $20 at any one of 40 participating Braidwood businesses, and you’ll receive a ticket to enter the Christmas Shop and Win draw. Spend over $100 and you’ll receive two tickets. The major prize is $8000 in store credits across participating businesses, meaning the money stays in the Braidwood community. Smaller prizes are $1000, two $500 lots of store credits.
Jess D’Arcy of D&S Motors says the business chose to participate to support its loyal local customers.
“We think it’s a really nice idea to have the opportunity to give something back to our customers should they win,” Ms D’Arcy said. “We thought it was a really good idea to promote shopping local.”
To enter fill in your name and phone number and drop off your ticket at Braidwood Rural, the IGA, the Community Bank, the Newsagent or the Braidwood Bakery.
Winners will be drawn at the QPRC Christmas Party on December 1. Social media #shopandwinBraidwood
