With the weather warming up and the pool due to open on November 4, Braidwood Swimming Club is gearing up for another great season and invites all young swimmers to join the fun.
Beginning Monday November 6, school-aged children who can (or almost) swim one lap unassisted will start at 4.30pm, with three-lap swimmers from 5pm.
The first two weeks will be obligation-free come-and-try nights where children can "have a go" without the need to register.
This year the club is pleased to offer coaching by Swim Australia-accredited teacher Sharon Blinco who has generously offered her time and expertise to help improve the skills and techniques of our members.
A session for younger swimmers and those who need to gain more confidence to swim a lap will be held at 3.30pm on Mondays and another for older and more confident swimmers at 4pm.
The cost is $5 per child per session or $10 a family (third and subsequent children free). All money raised will be donated back to the club to ensure its continued success.
The Swimming Club is a fun way to improve swimming skills while having fun and keeping fit. There's also a sausage sizzle every Monday and awards at the end of the season.
Children aged 7 and under join for free, while it's $67 a season for those aged 8 and over, which works out about $5 a week. An information pack with details on how to register online with Swimming NSW will be handed out at the pool.
For safety reasons, a parent or guardian is required to be at the pool with their child/children during club events and any help from parents with time-keeping, marshalling and manning the barbecue is always most appreciated.
Entry to the pool is not covered by club membership but season passes are available and represent great value for regular pool users.
We look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces as well as welcoming some new members to our club.
