Words cannot appropriately express our gratitude and heartfelt thanks for your truly overwhelming response to our potentially catastrophic loss of our family home.
To be parked out at my access road with a great friend on Friday afternoon frozen in fear by what I was looking at, seeing the constant stream of RFS units, Fire Rescue, RFS personnel, dozers, graders, water tankers, utes filled with water and local volunteers was unbelievable reassuring to me.
The RFS both local and interstate, neighbours, friends and community all gave a mammoth effort saving the property within 20 metres of the house fence, way too close for comfort. Without these people we would be homeless and where does one go from there?
We cannot praise your efforts enough, your incredibly effective response times, actions and coordination of duties. You were all right there in the thick of it in your planes, helicopters, trucks, graders, dozers and on the ground at exactly the right time and place.
We cannot praise your efforts enough, your incredibly effective response times, actions and coordination of duties.

“This fire was upon us in no time flat with no real warning” says my husband.
Perhaps if it wasn’t for the quick thinking local Bradley brothers who looked across to the north and said “that’s the Anderson’s place” calling authorities and arriving first to the scene with the Sturgiss family thereafter, what may have been the outcome?
Adding to this was the timely arrival of the RFS to save the day! We were also particularly blessed to have had a significant wind change as the fire crossed the gully up to the house, divine intervention we think!
Can I take this opportunity to advocate for having a fire plan, a fire box for your baby photos and a bag packed with bare essentials because I truly know that’s all that counts when the chips are down! This experience has been very humbling and refreshingly reassuring because of the unconditional commitment shown by country people to each other.
Again, thank you one and all and well done on a monumental job, praise to you. Our direct neighbours, the Dohertys would also like to convey this same message of thanks to you.
