A selection of artworks by students is currently on show in an exhibition at the Hamada Children's Art Museum in Japan.
The works include:
- ‘Two Birds’ by by Jason age 9. Pencil and emu feathers
- Expressive painting by Alfie age 6
- ‘Dot Painting’ Acrylic on black card by Isla age 7
- ‘Self Portrait’ by Elsa aged 6
- ‘Self Portrait’ by Zoe aged 6
- Look to the future ‘ Large collaborative linocut by class 5/6 aged 11 and 12 (2014)
Established in 1966, the museum seeks to foster creativity by exposing children to art from a young age. The museum also collects children’s artwork from all over the world, with a collection that currently comprises 5,000 artworks from 95 countries.
St Bede’s artworks made it to the museum after Curator Michiru Shimono requested work from the school.
“The students and families are really proud of their achievement and thank the Museum for selecting their work for exhibit,” said Mr Laffan.
“We hope to work with the Hamada museum in the future to share the artistic talents of our students.”
