Council will be considering a DA for a cinema in Queanbeyan’s CBD at the meeting on Wednesday 14 March at the Queanbeyan Council Chambers.
The DA proposes a nine-screen cinema above Kmart. Other items on the agenda include progressing a planning proposal for the Abbeyfield Senior’s Housing development in Bungendore and an information report on a proposed shooting range at Currawang.
While there is an information report to Council, the DA for the shooting range won’t be formally considered until further assessment has taken place.
The agenda can be viewed on Council’s website. You can watch the meeting live via webcast.qprc.nsw.gov.au.
New town entry signs to Bungendore have been installed on both entrances to Bungendore on the Kings Highway. This is a part of the project to beautify the Bungendore town centre, funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Communities Fund. On a related note, residents should be advised that ‘No Car Sales’ signs have been recently installed in the road reserve adjacent to the Bungendore Cemetery. The selling of cars in the road reserve is prohibited under the Local Government Act, Council will be enforcing these rules and fines apply.
