However, models will be strutting down the aisle at St Andrew’s Anglican on Sunday.
‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Fashion and High Tea’ will take place running to raise money for the restoration of the Anglican Church Hall.
The event will feature fashions from throughout the ages, thanks to Braidwood business Born Vintage.
Modern fashion will follow the vintage offerings.
A selection of men’s and women’s autumn ranges from local stores including Mingei Studio, Altenburg and Co, Len Mutton & Co, and Sandlewood Homewares.
The Anglican Ladies will show off their culinary prowess at the high tea after, including savouries, cakes champagne and tea.
The Anglican Parish of Braidwood made over the hall to a community trust in 2016, in light of its significance to the town.
This fundraiser will be one of many to raise the $100,000 needed for restoration and repair, including building toilets and redoing the roof.
“We’re...full steam ahead with the whole project now… works are going to be starting very soon,” said committee member Lyn Cram.
“The sooner we get it done, the sooner then people can hire the hall again. For so many generations it’s been used for all sorts of events.”
- ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ will begin at 2pm, at St Andrew’s Anglican, tickets are $25 per head, available at the Community Bank, with a number of tickets available at the door
