Ms Green is excited by the likely theme, ‘Food Health and Healing the Land’.
She sees the theme as an exciting chance to bring together local producers, with Indigenous people researching traditional bush tucker, speakers from around Australia, and foodies from big cities.

“People get a bit carried about superfoods from here there and everywhere, but there’s superfoods in our own backyard that most people know nothing about,” Mrs Green said.
“The notion is that we will invite indigenous people to come up and share their research and their practice in reconnecting in bush tucker and native foods. There are quite a lot of people in the Yuin people are doing work with that.”
“There are some fabulous things going on in Braidwood with people growing interesting food and regenerating the land, so we will involve a whole lot of local groups and individuals as well.”
As the planning is still in its early stages, the committee is yet to contact all food producers in the region. However, Ms Green is keen to hear from those who’d like to get on board.
The 2019 festival will be the first in four years, after the 2017 festival was cancelled due to a lack of resources.

The festival is likely to be in early April of 2018. It looks set to take place over one day and evening, potentially winding up with a community concert.
In the lead up, the committee will be organising a series of ‘Spot Fires’ to keep interest alive, and raise some handy funds.
The next event will be a ‘Fan the Flames’ trivia night at the National Theatre.
As well as your standard trivia rounds, the night will involve auctions, novelty rounds and a lucky door prize.
Entertainment, a buffet and bar will also liven up the night.
- ‘Fan the Flames’ trivia night will take place at the National Theatre on April 14 from 6pm, tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for concession and $15 for children, bookings can be made at www.trybooking.com/UKUQ, contact Julia Green to get involved with the festival, on 0402 605 945
