Round Eight of the Central South Coast District Pennants competition saw an incredibly tight tussle between Braidwood and Tomakin played out at the Braidwood Bowling Greens.
Our sides, while only winning one out of three rinks managed to score a total of 58 shots to 57 mainly attributed to a comprehensive win of 29 to 11 by Billy Halligan’s side.
The other game of Round Eight was played between Bodalla and Tuross Head with Bodalla having a huge 10 to nil win over Tuross Head.
The team boasts insurmountable lead of 16 points, with only one more round to be played.
The competition ladder now stands with Braidwood on top with 56.5 points, Tuross Heads on 40.5, Bodalla 32.5 and Tomakin 30.5 points.
The final round will see Braidwood play Tuross Heads at Tuross and Tomakin play Bodalla at Tomakin, then the Zone Playoffs will be organised after the other two Coastal Districts complete their home and away games.
Congratulations to all our competing bowlers and supporters.
Brock Edwards and Leroy Campbell-Davys represented Braidwood Central School at the inter-school’s competition held at Warilla Bowling complex last Thursday and Friday.
Brock was Runner-Up in the Singles, and Leroy and Brock won two out of three of the preliminary games and then turning the loss around to beat the same team 15 to 4 in the Pairs Final.
Congratulations lads, a great achievement against serious competition.
