Summerfield in Braidwood are having open days on April 28 and 29 from 10am to 3pm.
This is a great opportunity for you to see the homes and the facilities that are on offer, and if you’re not from Braidwood already, you can also have a relaxed look at this historic town while you’re there.
Summerfield in Braidwood offers independent living with a country lifestyle, plus a number of extras often sought by those of you who happen to be over 55.
Thanks to the facilities and the infrastructure that is located either on the site, in the immediate vicinity, or just a short drive away, they describe it as “country living with city benefits.”
First off, they are selling these 2-3 bedroom homes (with garage) as freehold titles with no exit fees, so it’s more like a normal residential property purchase.
If you decide to sell at some stage in the future, you determine the price with your agent as you would any other home.
However, there’s much more to it than a regular apartment or townhouse.
The site’s own features include a pool, a gym, a clubhouse, an arts and crafts room, and there’s also a hospitality suite available for those extra guests you have from time to time.
The arrangement is such that the residents share in the ownership of those on-site facilities.
The approximately 32,000 square metre (roughly 8 acre) estate also gives the nomadic adventurers among you plenty of room to park the boat, RV or caravan when you’re not using it. The estate even has its own little lake with a jetty, and there is also a barbeque area for you to enjoy.
Summerfield also point out that their heritage-listed views of the surrounding hills will never be built out, so you can always enjoy this genuinely rural setting.
Importantly, the villas and apartments are all single-level and they meet the NSW Government’s SEPP Seniors Housing code.
Also, and very conveniently, Braidwood Hospital is located adjacent to Summerfield, along with aged care facilities and community services.
Another convenience is Braidwood has daily bus services to Canberra, while the international airport is less than an hour’s drive away, as is the rest of Canberra.
Batemans Bay and the coast are about 45 minutes in the other direction, and plenty of equally-desirable places, including national parks, are not too far away either.
