The Braidwood Rodeo club presents the Southern Zone finals rodeo. With April 7 just around the corner, the Braidwood Showground will be a hive of activity.
The competition will be starting a little earlier this year with events scheduled to kick off at 7.30am and the main action to start from 11.30am, continuing through the afternoon.
The Apex boys will on hand, serving a variety of hot food, with ice cream and coffee vans also on site.
There will be plenty of trade stalls for all your cowboy or cowgirl needs, and, as always, a full bar will be in action from 10.30am.
The Southern Zone presentation dinner will be held from 6.30pm, celebrating the best in the business. With a 2-course dinner and dance to follow, the night is set to be a good one with entertainment by Jason Lee and his band. Tickets will be available at the bar on rodeo day.
After years of supporting the local community with profits from the rodeo going back into improving the showground with new infrastructure and facilities, this year the club has decided to support the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Foundation with the ‘Are you tough enough to wear pink?’ campaign.
The club will donate a percentage of all profits made on the day to the foundation, to raise awareness and fund research into breast cancer.
“We ask all attending the rodeo, competitors and spectators alike, to wear pink in honour of this campaign. The rodeo club committee will be leading the way by proudly wearing pink shirts donated by Braidwood Outdoors” they said in a statement.
The rodeo club is urging all businesses to assist in turning the town pink from Sunday, April 1, through until Sunday, April 8. Pink shopfronts, pink food and pink ribbon donations boxes will feature throughout the town.
All collections and donations for the week will go towards the Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon Foundation.

“Once again, Braidwood Rodeo Club would like to thank all of our sponsors without whom this event would not be possible.”
