The two kilometres of highway between Clyde Mountain and River Forest Road will benefit from resurfacing and improved skid resistance, after roadworks beginning May 18.
The NSW Government is funding the $800,000 package of works.
Member for Monaro John Barilaro urged drivers to respect the changed conditions.
“Changed traffic conditions including stop/slow conditions and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Motorists should plan their journey and allow extra travel time, as delays of up to five minutes are expected during work hours.
“Work will be a case of short term pain for long term gain and the community is thanked in advance for its patience.”
Work will be carried out from Friday May 18 to Friday May 25 between 7am and 5pm, weather permitting.
