About 200 people filled the new Goulburn Mulwaree Rural Fire Service support brigade station for its opening, where service medals were presented to RFS members, and a firetruck was handed over to the Marulan brigade.

Also on the program was the dedication of a memorial garden area dedicated to brigade members who had passed away. Zone Chaplain Caroline Campbell used water from a knapsack pump to dedicate the garden, watched by family members of several families whose members names appear on the plaque.
The members listed are: Mark Little, Peter Briggs, Kevin Salter, Stephen Schaefer, Timothy Street, David Firminger, Robert Hughes and Ron Catlin Snr.
The garden dedication was conducted before RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, who was held up near Berrima by a traffic accident, arrived.
Commissioner Fitzsimmons, Member for Goulburn Pru Goward who was representing the Minister for Police and Emergency Services Troy Grant and Goulburn Mulwaree Mayor Bob Kirk congratulated the 37 service medal and clasp recipients.
The NSW RFS Service Medal is for 10 years service and each clasp represents and additional 10 years service.
Heading the list for long and dedicated service was Southern Tablelands Zone senior management team member and Group Captain Alfred (John) Sendall.
John Sendall has more than 60 years service with the NSW Bush Fire Brigade / Rural Fire Service. His service started in February 1952 with Parkesbourne Brigade and since he has been a front line firefighter, administrator, s44 incident controller, Group Officer, trainer and Honorary Deputy Fire Control Officer for Mulwaree Shire.
John has been involved in numerous major and smaller fires within the shire and outside of the district.
He has endeavoured to pass on his skills, knowledge and experience to others developing team leader skills.
John Sendall was presented with the Long Service Medal and first, second, third, fourth and fifth clasps.
Recognised for their 50 years of service were: Geoffrey Friend, Parkesbourne; Barry Barnfield, Marulan; and Stuart Martin, Tarago.
With 40 years service were: Bruce Squires, Bungonia; Greg Latta, Mulwaree Support and Dale Evans, Mulwaree Support then Parkesbourne.
With 30 years service were: Wally Black, Mulwaree Support; Wayne Picker, Tarlo; Shayne Friend, Parkesbourne; Barry Friend, Parkesbourne; Rosalee Miller, Parkesbourne; Donna Squires, Bungonia; David Elward, Taylors Creek; William Muldrew, Parkesbourne; and Greg Butz, Mulwaree Support.
With 20 years service were: Kerrie Friend, Parkesbourne; Jason Chalker, Tarlo: Andrew Ross, Mulwaree Support; Milton Davy, Parkesbourne; Warren Denniss, Marulan; Des Kingston, Tarago; James Divall, Marulan and Corey Baker, Parkesbourne.
With 10 years service were: Marc Alders, Marulan; Terry Lewis, Bungonia; Gail Lewis, Bungonia; Greg Campbel, Tarlo; Ben Crockford, Marulan; \sean Whitby, Bungonia; Christopher Kremp, Mulwaree Support; Tegan Denniss, Marulan; Peter Boxall, Mulwaree Support, Rodney Thistleton, Mulwaree Support; James Thistleton, Mulwaree Support and Matthew Curvey, Mulwaree Support.
Several of the recipients were unable to attend the ceremony, with some represented by family members.
