Hollie is also the creator of the “Self-crafted wellness journal”. She says this is “a workbook to support you to formulate a Wellness plan that works for you, guided by 52 points for Wellness, and the Rhythm of Life.” It includes actionable, positive steps toward wellness and a built-in method for formulating healthy habits.

The Holistic Therapies centre is an extension of the work started with the wellness journal, assisting people to work towards well-being tailored to their own lives.

According to Hollie, the focus of Holistic Therapies will be the overall “protocol of wellness, with a view to alternative practices.” Holistic wellness includes incorporating movement and real food into everyday life, as well as taking time out of busy schedules for relaxation and winding-down. 

The Holistic Therapies centre is based on what Hollie says are the five elements of wellness: nutrition, light, flow, movement and rhythm. While we tend to take these for granted, a deficiency of any can lead to a health imbalance. For example, in countries in the far northern hemisphere where there are only a few hours of daylight in the middle of winter, people frequently suffer mental and physical health problems due to lack of exposure to light. Health authorities in these countries have experimented with various ways of remedying these ill-health effects. The centre will offer a movement session each day to get people moving to their own rhythms.

The new centre will have a therapy dog available on all but one day a week, and there will be a small shopfront selling local products, books and materials on the theme of natural health and well-being. Holistic Therapies officially opens on Saturday, July 14 at 11am.
