We have recently held two raffles out the front of the Braidwood IGA and there will be another raffle this coming weekend out the front of the Braidwood Newsagent.
What is the money for?
Monies raised will go towards subsidising our new polo shirts for the scouts.
It will also go towards those scouts attending Australian Jamboree in January 2019 and World Jamboree in the USA mid-2019.
These upcoming major camps take a lot of time, effort and money for the Scouts and their families, so it is great to see the Scouts helping out with fundraising.
The Australian Jamboree
Jacob and Hannah are going to the Australian Jamboree in January 2019 and this will be held in South Australia.
There they will join approximately 10,000 other Scouts, Guides and Leaders for 10 days of fun, adventure and meeting other Scouts from around the country.
The World Jamboree
Hamish and Charlie are attending the World Jamboree which will be in West Virginia, USA in July 2019.
They will be part of an Australian contingent of approximately 750 Scouts, Venturers and leaders, who will join in the 12 day camp with over 50,000 other Scouts from around the world.
This will be an amazing opportunity for them to see how Scouts is run around the world.
All four Scouts will be fantastic ambassadors for the 1st Braidwood Scout Group.
Thank you for your support!
Thank you to those who have already helped support our raffles and we hope that you continue to support our Scouts.
As our Group continues to grow, we are hoping there may be members of the community who may be interested in becoming leaders and members of our Group Support Committee with 1st Braidwood.
Our Group will only continue to grow with the valued support from the community. This is all for the youth of this area, to give them an opportunity to develop leadership and skills for life.
